Soulitaire shares weighted single ‘New Breed’

Brilliant Austrian-based songwriter Soulitaire has just shared the first track from his upcoming album I Believe In Rainbows. ‘New Breed’ is a heartfelt, philosophical track, capturing his outlook on learning from life experiences.

The indie-instrumentalist has run the gauntlet through and array of musical styles. From a grunge-loving youngster, to 60’s and 70’s blues, to jazz training at Gustav Mahler Konservatorium. He formerly worked on numerous collaborative projects, such as pop band I Am Cereals,  Indie-Pop band The Black Riders  and most recently, Jaramouche.
All of these genres influenced his sound, leading up to the formation of his moniker Soulitaire, and thus the emergence of his current musical style.

His affinity for “the greats” is apparent, and he cites the likes of  Joni Mitchell, Steve Vai, Galliano, The Brand New Heavies, Pat Metheny, Frank Zappa and Miles Davis as influences. Soulitaire manages to pull on your heart strings with his sliding guitar technique, releasing a softness in the strumming and a natural loop of hand beats- bass vibrating off his instrument. His sound breathes off a well balanced weight between the classic and the contemporary, evoking a charm in the relationship between the vocals and harmony.

However, ‘New Breed’ is  more than just pretty instrumentals and crooning vocals. The track tells a story. Speaking thereof he says:  “The song is about hope. A look through all the anxiety and desperation right into a time when those deliberate and warm hearted people that are young adults today will become the next architects of our world. They will look back to learn and look forward to build upon those experiences. And then there will again be hard times to struggle with and again someone will be there to learn to make it better. Because that’s how life is: Waves. Quite beautiful actually, if you watch them from a distance.”
