Songstress Anna Aaron shares her very first single ‘Why Not’ on 18th May. The indie-pop singer hails from Sweden and will be releasing via Radicalis Music, and has already released successful singles ‘Stellarling’ and ‘Linda.’ The Swedish singer first gained credibility by fellow Swiss jazz musician Sophie Hunger,  which led to her being noticed by label Two Gentlemen Records (Fauve, The Young Gods, The Appleseed Cast)  and led to her being signed on the spot. She has since gained media attention from notable Swiss and German publications such as Sound Kartel, Le Canal Auditif, NBHAP, Les Inrocks, Spiegel Online just to name a few.

Anna Aaron has also released a full-length album titled ‘Dogs In Spirit’ via Two Gentlemen in 2012. Her rising fame led to her touring Erik Truffaz Quartet on their European Tour, wand collaborated with the Quartet on three tracks for their album “El Tiempo de la Revolución” released via Blue Note. Anna’s tantalising sophomore album, ‘Neuro’ was produced by renowned engineer David Kosten who has worked with Natalie Imbruglia, Bat For Lashes, Snow Patrol, Marina And The Diamonds, Faultline), with contributions from “prolific musicians such as Jason Cooper, drummer for the iconic post-punk band The Cure, as well as multi-instrumentalist Ben Christophers (Bat For Lashes and V2 Records alumni), gaining the talented musician considerable press and interest. Along with Anna, her brother and fellow producer Alain Meyer (The Golden, Sheila She Loves You) has co-produced her upcoming album entitled, ‘Pallas Dreams’, scheduled for 2019 release via Radicalis Music and once again mixed by Kosten.”

Anna Aaron is influenced by an array of artists namely Nigel Godrich, Animal Collective, Popol Vuh – Anna Aaron’s music is in a realm of it’s own, and can be stylistically compared to artists such as Lykke Li or PJ Harvey. Her creative songwriting can be compared to similar-minded artists such as Robyn or Anna Calvi for her “sense of passion and commitment.”

“The latest single ‘Why Not’ by Anna Aaron is a pounding electro-tinged voyage through kaleidoscopic whirlwinds; deep driving basslines and energetic percussion stream like rivers of lightning underneath Aaron’s provocative, animated vocal presence. Her confrontational lyrics “Why not have no expectations towards yourself?” reminds us of the impact one can have in this unforgiving world.”

Speaking on the latest single, Anna comments: “I wrote ‘Why Not’ very fast in the spirit of the moment. The lyrics however were challenging to write because I wanted them to be cutting but also funny; so to make it work I had to maintain a high tension between precision and delirious ranting.”
