Mazare and EVILLE have unveiled their collaborative single ‘King For A Day‘ today, accompanied by a music video released via Universal Music Italy. EVILLE, emerging from Brighton’s dynamic alternative scene, has steadily built a reputation through airplay on BBC Radio 1, Kerrang! and Radio X, as well as appearances at major festivals including Reading and Leeds and 2000 Trees, and tours alongside WARGASM and Delilah Bon. Mazare, originally from Northeast Italy, was introduced to electronic music through David Guetta’s ‘When Love Takes Over’ in 2009, following formative exposure to his father’s collection of Pink Floyd, U2 and Genesis. His current releases navigates the intersection of metal-infused electronics and pop-rock, with releases on Monstercat and Insomniac Records amassing over 35 million Spotify streams.
The track opens with crisp Jersey club-inspired kick drums, gradually escalating into a dense drop marked by distorted guitars, assertive breakbeat percussion and robust Reese basslines. Fronted by Eva Sheldrake’s commanding vocal delivery, EVILLE sets a defiant tone, while Mazare’s rap verse in the latter half injects additional intensity. The single is poised to resonate with fans of Rage Against the Machine, Evanescence and Bring Me The Horizon, drawing on their shared affinity for genre-blending aggression and melodic hooks. Visually, the accompanying video adopts a grainy VHS aesthetic, interspersing performance footage of Mazare and EVILLE with striking imagery of a red linen-clad figure, amplifying the track’s dynamic energy.

Mazare had this to say: “‘King For A Day‘ was born from the discomfort caused by the current geopolitical situation and the impact it’s having on everyone’s lives. I felt the need to speak up about it, and that’s why this time I challenged myself with writing and performing the small rap section in the second verse. I wanted the song to be as direct and unaltered as possible. And I need to shout out EVILLE for being very respectful of the vision for this one. They took the song, made it their own, and delivered an incredible performance that perfectly captured the feeling I was going for.”
