‘Restless’ is built for movement—radio-ready yet proudly band-forward. The international project ZOCO, led by Geneva-born multi-instrumentalist Marco Zocco, frames a clear thesis: press pause on autopilot and make room for spontaneity. You hear that urgency in Zocco’s rich baritone and in the physicality of the players around him: Carmine Rojas (ex-David Bowie, Rod Stewart) lays down a supple, melodic bass figure; Slim Jim Phantom (Stray Cats) and London Hudson (Return to Dust, Suspect208) provide the drum language, from soft brush momentum to forward-leaning punch.
Produced by Gunnar Nelson (with backing vocals) and executive produced by Kerry Brown (The Smashing Pumpkins), the single was recorded between Los Angeles (Licorice Pizza Records), Milan (Massive Arts Studios), and Nashville (vocal production/recording), which explains its widescreen sheen without losing human grain. Mix engineer Stephen DeAcutis keeps the guitars expansive but not bloated; legendary mastering engineer Howie Weinberg adds the final, radio-tight snap.
Written by Marco, with his brothers Paolo and Matteo Zocco—and lyrical input from Stanford friend Jack LeVant—the song’s “whoa” gang chorus is more than a hook; it’s the communal reply to the lyric’s call for change. Piano and synth colors sit at the edges, reinforcing a guitar-driven core that nods to alternative rock while embracing cinematic pop dynamics.
As a debut signal ahead of LUMANISTA (Part 1) (January 2026), ‘Restless’ is a strong promise: muscular, melodic, and emotionally legible, equally at home on a national playlist or a late-night drive show.
