South Australian artist Nosila has unveiled a glorious music video for his single ‘Halfway’ on 7 October 2024. ‘Halfway’ was released on September 13th, and is an emotively striking folk pop ballad about finding common ground with someone.

Nosila’s music explores issues surrounding growth, anxiety and existence. Although ‘Halfway’ is an uplifting song, it also has heavier undertones which is illustrated in the lyrics. The vibrant energy of the single is a significant shift in direction for Nosila too as it’s not his usual sound. This change in direction has proven successful, as ‘Halfway’ received support from renowned Australian platform scenstr, as well as acclaimed international publication CLASH.
‘Halfway’ features Nosila’s powerful vocals and deft guitar skills. It has an ear-worm chorus and melody, with an infectious rhythm that could easily be part of a movie score or the soundtrack to an advertisement. The music video is such a sublime accompaniment to the single. Filmed in one of Nosila’s favorite places in the world Bali, it pristinely encapsulates the atmosphere of the track.
In the video, Nosila is seen performing in various parts of a Bali surfers shack. It switches between aerial shots of the stunning location, the ocean, lush greenery and of course, Nosila singing his heart out. The video ends the way it begins, with a majestic shot of the vast ocean.
Nosila shared: “The inspiration for the video came because it’s my favourite place to stay in Bali. It’s a surfers shack (I’m not a surfer) that takes about 5 minutes to walk down to a rock mountain/cliff edge. It’s completely secluded and isolated (monkeys are the biggest issue). It’s one of the best places to feel like you’ve escaped the outside world. The feeling evoked from being there really matched the meaning/feeling behind the song.”
