Tell us about your highlights for last year

Playing the Gospel Inn Stage at the 110 Above Festival and becoming Artist of the Week at London’s Flex FM

To those not familiar with you, how would you describe your sound?

Alternative soul with a cheeky dose of pop.

Looking back, what were some of your earliest entries into music appreciation? And music production?

I grew up surrounded by my father’s love of soul music.  So since an early age, I would sing dance and record lyrics on old cassette tapes. Even though I learnt how to play saxophone at school, I never really had a passion to produce music. I have however been extremely lucky to write with some incredible producers and musicians along the journey.

Take us through your songwriting process. Are there any particular steps you take when putting music together?

It’s hard to put the songwriting process into words, it seems to happen at the divine time. It’s easier to write when the process is not forced. My inspiration comes from real-life experiences when I am in total solitude with chords I can relate to – lyrics and melodies will literally flow from this point.

What is the most memorable response you have had to your music?

“Your song made me cry when I first heard it”

If you could create your own radio show, what kind of music would you feature and why?

I would feature an eclectic range of music with the sole purpose of making people dance because that’s exactly what I want people to do at my future gigs.

Name five artists who would appear on your radio show

Aaliyah, Sam and Dave, James Brown, Destinys Child, Earth Wind & Fire

Do you have any information regarding upcoming releases, projects, DJ mixes or collaborations in the pipeline that you would like to tell us about?

I am currently releasing a track every month this year!
