Celebrated trio Karmacoda dropped their latest album, You and I, on July 26 2024, via Sola Musa Music. For over two decades, Karmacoda has been a trailblazer in the music scene, a remarkable achievement that very few can match. Karmacoda are known for their genre-defying sound, blending the likes of chill, electronica, trip-hop, R&B and rock into a unique musical experience.
Their innovative work has graced film and TV scores and earned them prestigious accolades like the Hermes Creative Awards (Platinum) for their ‘Lo-Fi Girl’ video, and an Unglued Music Video (Gold) for ‘Make Me The One’. Their influential sound has caught the attention of tastemakers like CLASH Magazine, NOTION, and EARMILK further cementing their impact in the industry.
Their album dives deep into the tapestry of human experience such as friendship, love, grief and happiness, offering an intimate exploration of these emotional highs and lows.
The focus track ‘Hold’ is a touching love ballad capturing the ache of longing for a loved one. With deeply honest and at times heart-wrenching lyrics, the song showcases Karmacoda’s signature vulnerability and emotional depth. The instrumental backdrop, featuring gentle guitar riffs, a calming drum pattern and a shimmering tambourine, perfectly complements Jessica’s extraordinary vocals, creating a beautiful blend of pain and passion.
