Like a wildflower, rocker ANIQO has been able to sustain her creative force throughout her life, she is not one to let a little rain or a wildfire keep her away from sharing her truth with the world. The singer now shares her long-awaited album titled BIRTH today. We previously received a few petals of ANIQO’s lyrical depth with the tracks ‘Fear’ and ‘Vivre Libre’, and now we see this work come together on the official album release via SPRINGSTOFF.

In a previous interview with Indie Music, the singer elaborated on the motivation for this album: “…We humans always need to be entertained and are quickly bored… This is a trait of mine that I accept as a human, but still do not find beautiful. When I am not doing so well and doubt myself – there are also characteristics like envy, jealousy, and anger. These are three things that I find very shady and I also don’t like to accept them – but I guess I have to.”

An artist that can admit their flaws and areas of weakness into their work is already admirable in our books. The lyrical honesty, charisma & psychedelic goddess-like persona on this work is exhilarating for broken souls. One sees ANIQO’s vulnerability but is also liberated by her powerful vocal tone that draws parallels to the delightful intensity of the Cocteau Twins & Sharon van Etten.
