Out now on September 4, 2025, ‘Girls in Hollywood’ is the newest drop from London-based Lola Wild, a Hackney native whose background in showgirl dancing, she brings dance smarts, beat-making, and a silver tongue to her set of skills, creating an audio-visual feast. From her 2023 start, she’s sold through venues such as SJQ, Crazy Coq’s, and The Waiting Room, hit the stage at O2 Academy Islington, and recorded a session of her intro single ‘Rendezvous’ at Paul Weller’s Black Barn Studios backed by his players. She’s grabbed spins on Radio X, BBC Radio 6, and BBC Introducing London, with her rich, crooning delivery drawing links to greats like Roy Orbison, David Bowie, and Connie Francis.

Stream ‘Girls in Hollywood’:

This indie pop cut peels back Hollywood’s glossy myth to show its worn edges and tough truths, mixing glowing vintage sounds with gritty heart. Crafted with multi-talented producer Jim Wallis at Strong Room Studios, it starts on a low-key synth arpeggio and a firm, mesmerizing groove that mixes haze with intensity. The story follows a wide-eyed girl lured by spotlight promises, winding up in a web of abuse, solitude, and vanishing fantasies, centered on a drained entertainer gripping fading sparks. It channels ABBA‘s catchy pop roots while nodding to the brooding styles of Weyes Blood, Suki Waterhouse, and Σtella, with layers that echo the clash of allure and decline.

The release comes with a snappy visualizer from Jack Satchell and Mars Washington, who’ve teamed with CMAT, Lynks, and Opus Kink, featuring Roxy Van Plume and Lola Wild in styled roles. It’s not merely a heads-up on pitfalls—think of it as a drawn-out reflection on squandered freshness and shattered goals, driven by thoughtful mixes, visuals, and keen tales.
