Electronic pop icon Róisín Murphy announces new album

With the release of her much anticipated fifth album “Róisín Machine” just around the corner, the inimitable, indisputable pop icon Róisín Murphy unleashes a huge new remix of her latest single “Something More”, a speaker rattling leviathan of a track by the Belgian dance colossus Soulwax.

Smoothly picking up where the Belgian New Beat explosion left off in the late 80s, Soulwax are renowned for their genre defying mischievousness, splicing together electro-pop, guitar rock, disco punk, industrial music and more to create something that was irresistibly and indefinably DIY and unique. Their remix of “Something More” works along the same principle, creating a deep, funky chug perfect for driving across wide open borders, both physical and metaphorical.

Where the original was introspective and spiked with melancholy, once the brothers Dewale have got their hands on it, it becomes something else entirely, fearlessly ramraiding the best chapters in the History of Funk to make a fiendishly infectious beast of a track complete with thumping beats and an irresistible chord breakdown in the chorus. The perfect palate cleanser before the magnum opus that is “Roisin Machine” arrives.

“Róisín Machine” tracklist:
