The 2017 National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) show, the world’s premier trade-only festival for the music products industry, kicks off today at the Anaheim Convention Centre in California.
Excitement is always high at NAMM shows, as musicians of all persuasion eagerly anticipate the newest product releases from leading brands such as Yamaha, Korg, Moog, Roland and Akai.
Some of the hottest products expected to be on show at this year’s event include two new MPC units from Akai, who seem to be returning to their roots by re-introducing the kind of standalone MPC technology that made the original MPC 1000 models such iconic and sought-after pieces of studio gear. Other exciting rumours include new products from Swedish company Teenage Engineering and a new series of reso-glass guitars from Supro.
