Folk singer-songwriter Sky Mckee unveiled his latest heartfelt ballad ‘Anita (I’m Losing)’ on October 3rd 2024. The single is an emotively charged sonic offering, created around themes of grief and hope. ‘Anita (I’m Losing)’ highlights the fragility and unpredictability of life, and how we should try our best to appreciate loved ones while they’re still with us.
Inspired by the loss of someone he deeply admired, Sky reveals; “I always wanted an Anita in my life, but I can’t stop losing them. This song is about coming to grips with the fact that things will never look the way I had hoped and how hard of a blow it is for a close friend to die suddenly.”
The track feels like a gentle, dreamy lullaby with Sky’s warm vocals gliding over the sublime composition. The juxtaposition between the heartbreaking lyrics and the track’s production is compelling, and adds a layer of contemplation to the track.
