Indie rock sensation DYGL (pronounced ‘day-glo’) has just unveiled their latest single, ‘Crawl’ on 6 September 2024 via their Easy Enough imprint. ‘Crawl’ offers an exciting glimpse into their forthcoming EP, Cut the Collar, slated for release later this year. With an ever-growing fanbase of nearly 25 000 monthly Spotify listeners, the band has already garnered buzz from prominent outlets like NME, Japan Times, and The Line of Best Fit. They have taken their energetic performances across China, the USA, the UK (supporting Bad Suns), and Europe (with The Mystery Lights), and they’ve graced major stages at SXSW, Fujirock and Summer Sonic.

Drawing inspiration from the likes of Sonic Youth and Beach Fossils, their trademark blend of jangle pop and indie rock has made them an undeniable force to be reckoned with. ‘Crawl’ bursts with the vitality of jangle pop and post-punk, swaddled in a nostalgic embrace. Nobuki Akiyama’s vocals are reminiscent of 90s and early 2000s indie boy bands, while the track offers gleaning, euphoric melodies paired with thoughtful guitar riffs and a pulsating bassline.

DYGL shared:We feel like making music that makes people dance more, which people can feel by their body more than their ears. We celebrate the sounds of instruments as well as vocals, more than ever. After the COVID situation settled, we started to get back the opportunity to experience live music in our daily lives, and it heavily inspired our creativity these days. It’s the song that includes the frustration of getting stuck in the same place, but also having some ambition to leave there to be free.
