Acclaimed Synth-Pop duo Moxxy Jones unveiled a gripping music video for their single ‘This Time’ on 15 August. This is the tenth single from their debut synth-pop album Unnoticed released on 26 June 2024, which was produced by Starita (Madame Gandhi, A Tribe Called Quest, Childish Gambino).
‘This Time’ shines brightly as an intense and explosive blend of electro-pop, industrial dance, and R&B-infused sounds, beautifully showcasing Moxxy Jones’ signature style and storytelling prowess. The single is about finding the inner strength to leave a relationship that’s no longer fulfilling. The duo effortlessly merge larger than life vocals, funk guitar riffs, modern synths, and experimental sounds to craft a melancholic yet profoundly sincere sonic experience.
So far, their single releases from Unnoticed have garnered over 18 Million views on TikTok. They’ve also been included in editorial, algorithmic, and user-generated playlists reaching 2 Million followers worldwide.
The music video for ‘This Time’ is just as poignant and moving as the track. It begins with flashing, colourful imagery that can be likened to a memory flashback. The video swiftly switches between animation and real-life scenes throughout, adding a sense of drama and unpredictability. The viewer gets snapshots of stunning real-life and imagined landscapes, worlds and dimensions creating an extra layer of depth and mastery to the single.
Guitarist and co-producer Milan divulges: “Sonically, the song is pushing a number of different sounds together to try and create something new. Lyrically, the song speaks to a person pushing themselves to move beyond a relationship.”
