Singer, songwriter and producer Denai Moore today shares a beautiful and powerful 12-minute performance of three tracks from her critically acclaimed new album “Modern Dread”. Directed by her partner and frequent artistic collaborator, the multi-disciplinary Nadira Amrani, Moore and her band perform ‘Too Close’, ‘Grapefruit on the Porch’ and ‘To The Brink’ from the Carl Freedman Gallery in Margate.
Modern Dread is Moore’s journey, truly a discovery of self – the latest statement from a fascinating artist who continues to surprise. The record follows on from the critically hailed 2017 album “We Used to Bloom”, but represents a delicious quantum leap in her career, a unique blend of quixotic beats and introspective, sometimes harrowing songwriting which will undoubtedly stamp Moore as one of the most original talents we have around right now. Critics are similarly bowled over, with the likes of the Independent, Dazed, DIY, Gigwise and more coming together to praise this affecting and beautiful record.
