Open about having the uncertainty of what home means for them as of yet, gender-neutral musician Russell Louder has shared their music video for ‘HOME’. Previously featured on Muze FM (read feature) ahead of releasing their debut album HUMOR, ‘HOME’ introduces an electro-pop landscape of truth and fears that exist in the singer’s life living as a non-binary artist in the U.S.

The musician recently shared their disgust for the ill-treatment of trans youth in the US: “I’m thinking about the scrutiny and harm targeting trans kids in the US right now on a human rights level. about growing up gender creative/expansive in a population-800 town. About the families who abandon their trans kids. About the families who claim to care but then do next to no research and continually deadname and misgender their children until they realize they have no skills to advocate for them when systems threaten their lives. Fuck visibility. Protect trans kids”
The ‘HOME’ music video has a Twilight Zone-Esque appeal to it, with its sharp editing and cuts of Louder travelling through an endless trail of snow. We feel like we are the viewers of another episode of the classic cinematic phenomenon. One is left on the edge of their seat as we hope Russell will find what they are looking for in the final moments of the video. One is left to ponder on this work as they are confronted with their truths and feelings around belonging. This is a suspenseful & heart-wrenching watch as we think of those that struggle with this reality of discrimination.
