During the creation of his upcoming album, “Falling” (out May 22nd), Fonkynson composed an 808 bass-driven track with a relaxed west coast vibe. He first tried it out as an instrumental but then experimented with some acapella vocals to give him a hint of where it could go. He then fell in love with that classic R&B vibe that a female voice could bring.
The new single, “You Got It (ft. Vaness),” came together after He found Vaness’s SoundCloud profile and reached out to work with her. Her features reminded me of 90s R&B divas, and when she returned the song with her vocal demo, she had killed it.
He hopes that you are just as stunned by Vaness as he was when you hear “You Got It.” Fonkynson stepped out of his comfort zone to make “Falling” and he cannot wait to share more of the album with you.
