Berlin-based singer-songwriter Oskar Brandt has released his debut single ‘Now or Never,’ a cinematic orchestral pop track that positions him as a distinctive new voice bridging emotionally driven songwriting, contemporary pop, and film-inspired composition. Released on 21 August 2026 via Nvak Collective, the track uses piano, strings, and rich orchestration to showcase the artist’s cinematic style and intimate songwriting.
Brandt cites influences ranging from RAYE, Sam Smith, and OneRepublic to the emotional storytelling of musical theatre and film scoring. That mix shapes his approach to songwriting, which leans heavily on narrative and mood. His music sits with heartbreak, grief, love, and uncertainty rather than trying to neatly resolve them, pairing vulnerable lyrics with arrangements built for cinematic scale.
‘Now or Never,’ captures this sensibility by exploring a relationship strained by personal struggles, balancing emotional distance with potential reconciliation. Brandt’s subtle yet commanding vocals drive the track from quiet intimacy to a sweeping orchestral pop arrangement. The production features cellist Dave Eggar (Coldplay, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Evanescence, Bon Jovi) and producer Heather Holley (Christina Aguilera), whose vocal production expertise adds polish and cohesive emotional storytelling.
The combination of orchestral depth, pop sensibility, and emotional directness gives ‘Now or Never’ reach beyond conventional streaming. Its dramatic build and well-placed melodic hooks suit visual storytelling, from film and television sequences to sync placements where mood and narrative drive the music. Beyond the single itself, Brandt appears focused on building something more lasting than a cinematic aesthetic. His songwriting is oriented around giving listeners space to process complex emotions, with songs designed to be revisited and to shift in meaning over time.
