Out now on April 24 through Chloe Star Records, ‘You Say’ is the newest single from Chloe Star. The Persian and Indigenous singer-songwriter, visual artist, and tribal advocate was born in Los Angeles and currently moves between LA and London. Her early years were split between her family’s San Bernardino reservation and the city, which shaped everything; as a pre-teen, she turned to journals and art forms to manage her emotions, all while her musical heritage quietly rooted her. Since debuting in 2023, the 28-year-old has built her artistic identity on unfiltered authenticity, turning that into steady momentum and a loyal audience. Rolling Stone featured ‘Bad Habit’ in its 2025 Best New Music: Songs You Need to Know, with further support from CLASH Magazine, 1883 Magazine, EUPHORIA, and EARMILK. She has also delivered standout sets on the main stage at London Pride, New York Pride Festival, Back Lot Bash in Chicago, Out & Abt in New York, and The Dinah in California. Echoes of Amy Winehouse, Nirvana, Janis Joplin, and YUNGBLUD run through her work, which frequently draws comparisons to Paramore, Billie Eilish, and YUNGBLUD.
Co-written and produced with JP Clark, mastered by Eric Emery (credits with Blink-182, Yellowcard, Travis Barker), the track locks into a propulsive electric guitar line, a relentless melody, and drum patterns that hit hard enough to rattle the ribs. Chloe Star’s voice and unsparing lyricism sit front and center on this love anthem about mismatched words and actions that breed confusion, grief, and emotional chaos. At the same time, the song offers a more nuanced take on her process, revealing a vulnerable layer that makes her even more relatable while still delivering the potent lyricism and restless energy that draw in listeners who love P!nk, Avril Lavigne, and Paramore.
