We’re premiering LËPTIC‘s new Afro House release ‘Ngiyajola‘ today, one day before it hits officially on eVIVe Recordings‘ Textures of Sound VA. The Vancouver-based DJ and producer excels at melodic production and layering rich textures in house, carving out rhythms that land personal but still having broad appeal. Drawing from Afro House icons including South Africa’s Shimza, Switzerland’s Andrea Oliva, and Spain’s Arodes, his discography features releases on SOM and Harmor Records. One of his recent career highlights so far include opening for MEDUZA during the UBC Blockparty Festival last year.
LËPTIC‘s way with house’s melodic structures comes through clear on ‘Ngiyajola‘, where his production talent and ear for detail take the lead. It’s built around a rich, pulling beat that gets its drive from African percussion and rolling shakers, locking everything into place. The vocals hit as the track’s core pulse, drawing listeners in with a direct line that connects the listener to something of a spiritual feeling.
Sharing more on the single, LËPTIC revealed: “Ngiyajola is a track that captures the energy of Afro House while keeping it deeply emotional and atmospheric. I wanted to create something that feels like a journey that’s chill enough for sunset listening, but powerful enough to move a club.”
