Varvara from Hamina, Finland have come a long way since the release of their previous album, Death Defying Tricks in January 2016. The album got nothing but praise from the leading rock media world wide with its’ intriguing mix of aggressive garage and melodic rock sounds.

Now Varvara is ready to unleash the first taster from their upcoming fourth full-length album GO to be released early 2018 under their own Haminian Sounds imprint. The new single entitled “Identical” can now be found on all digital music services worldwide together with music video.

The new album GO as a whole is about that moment when Summer turns into Autumn. This reality hits you right in the face and reminds you that a certain relaxing time is over. From time to time there is a strong contrast between energetic rock tracks and slightly gloomy lyrics. The first single “Identical” is a good representation of this contrast.

The reality also, once again, hit the band right in the face during the album recording process. Lead singer and guitarist Mikko Kiri explains:

”The Universe really wants me to quit this whole rock thing. When starting the recordings for our previous album I broke my thumb and got a serious throat infection. This time we were to postpone the recordings because I broke my wrist and I was suffering from a terrible flu and throat infection through out the whole recording process. From this angle I think the making of GO was the hardest album recording process so far.”

Simo (bass) comments: “We need to wrap Mikko in plastic before starting to do any future recording.”

Produced and mostly recorded by the band themselves in their own studio ”GO” gathers its’ influences from the period the band members got actively interested in music and starting to lear their instruments End of 1990s and early 2000s. The album was mixed by the leading underground rock, indie and punk scene producer in Finland Lauri Eloranta and mastered by Brad Boatright (Fucked Up, Beastmilk..) at Audiosiege, Portland USA.
