Croydon-born creative Quiet Storm, also known as legendary A-list celebrity stylist Dean Aslett, dropped his latest single, ‘Song On The Radio’, along with a music video on March 29th, 2024. Originally from Croydon and now splitting his time between London and Mykonos, Quiet Storm’s first four singles, including ‘Lady Show Me’, ‘I Could Almost Cry’, ‘You Make Me Shudder’, and ‘Your World’, all achieved consecutive Top 10 Chart positions in Music Week UK. His track, ‘This Place’, gained recognition from EARMILK, while ‘Song On The Radio’ has garnered support from NOTION. Furthermore, his music has been featured on NPR Music. With an impressive background in the fashion industry, styling A-listers like Princess Diana, Elton John, and members of Duran Duran, Dean has transitioned to music full-time, continuously evolving his sound with each release.
In ‘Song On The Radio,’ Quiet Storm transforms his usual dreamy sounds into assertive synth-pop. Producer Chase Emery Davis blends upbeat drum samples, synths, and new wave elements for an irresistibly danceable track with nostalgic defiance. Quiet Storm revealed: “‘Song On The Radio’ simply came from a desire to create something a bit different and more assertive, “in yer face” to what I normally create which is normally more abstract. I don’t normally go in for big choruses but this one just came out of nowhere and sounds more American than European with a slight late 70s new wave touch. Obviously the song is about personal betrayal and the song was a cathartic release.”
