Young Slovenian indie rockers Koala Voice have released a sizzling new single, ’Late For The Party’, released on the 13th of October 2023. The group consists of lead vocalist/guitarist Manca Trampuš, guitarist Domen Don Holc, drummer Miha Prašnikar and bass player Tilen Prašnikar. Their sound is reminiscent of Paramore, Wolf Alice, and Phoebe Bridgers. They have been carving a name for themselves in the music industry: they have opened for American grunge legends Pixies, played big venues and festivals like Exit Festival, and won both a HEMI Music Award in 2022 and a Golden Flute Award in the category of Album of The Year for their 2021 project Plata. Additionally, the quartet has received support from a number of Slovenian publications and UK tastemaker DIY Magazine, and plays on a number of radio stations such as Val 202. Further testimony to their mounting success is the whopping 4 million streams that they have accumulated across all platforms.
‘Late For The Party’ is an amazing amalgam: it’s a fusion of gritty rock and dance-ready disco, with a distinctly funk feel and punk attitude. The groove is made up of a funky, filthy bassline that dances over fast drums as scorching guitars infuse the sound with harmonic electricity. Vocals leap in and out of the fray, imparting wisdom and carefree reminders upon the listener with a distinctly rebellious and carefree tone. ‘Late For The Party’ is a kick of energy you didn’t know you need – it demands to be played loudly.
Koala Voice commented: “Late For The Party is a piece with positive messages, lively beat and distortion driven guitars, best listened to while driving a car, “if you are late or not”.
