Indie rock band The Burma have released their new single ‘23’. The track is the first one they have shared from their forthcoming album as well as the first one they have released since their debut album, Sucker for Stars, was made public back in 2022, a year that took the band on tour. And later this year, they will perform live in the UK for the first time. Buy tickets.

“‘23’” is the first song we wrote and recorded for our second album,” said The Burma. “It’s one of those songs that came together really quickly. The song you hear now has barely changed from its initial conception, which is a rare thing for us!”

‘23’ is a dreamy track. Gentle plucks open the record, guiding it toward a land of milky guitars and honeycomb vocals. Beneath clouds of saturated guitar-pedal fuzz, singer Tony O Donovan tells a story, giving the track that extra tot of nostalgia.

The Burma Tour Date(s):

3 June – Wild Roots, Sligo

4 June – You Bloom, Co. Dublin

19 Aug – Canal Bar @ Dingwalls, Camden, London

14 Oct – Live At St. Lukes, Cork
