With the world in turmoil, it seems like the perfect time for a little bit of downtempo pop to mentally wipe the slate clean and hit the reset button. Take GIVVEN and their latest single, ‘Losing Colours’ that’s accompanied by a cinematic video. Directed by award-winning Rupert Höller with photographer Adrian Bidron stepping forward to assist with the photography, the video stays far away from a traditional storyline and instead embraces the abstract. Questions are created and left unanswered in a few brief moments as the two characters stay with us long after the video has ended.

The single and video call to mind the well-known video from Sonder – ‘Too Fast’ which gained critical acclaim for its unique storyline. Cinematic videos are taking off in a major way at the moment, with many leaving views begging for more after the experience. Director Rupert Höller tells us about the creation of the video: “We shot the video for ‘Losing Colours’ with Paris-based dancers Aliashka and Goku Kepler on the famous black beach in the south of Iceland. It explores the concept of human connection and energy. Even if you lose someone and that person is not physically present anymore, the energy still remains.”
