London quartet Jet-G have released a haunting new single ‘Keep me Waiting.’ The track follows on from their equally evocative previous release ‘Give Me Air’ and their debut ‘Heartbeat’, a collaboration with the Japanese drumming troupe KODO and Resident Advisor.

Stream / Download: ‘Keep Me Waiting’

Jet-G is the acronym and collaboration between electronic producers Jolliffe, vocalist ECKOES, Modestep’s founding member Tony Terror and GENTRY.

The track tells the devastating story of a still-birth, and is a hauntingly accurate sonic portrayal of the scene complete with the sound of hospital fluorescent bulbs flickering. The spacious arrangement on ‘Keep Me Waiting’ gives plenty of room for the vocals to take centre stage, and the result transcends mere impressiveness.

ECKOES of Jet-G tells us about the concept behind the single, “Our latest song is about how it must feel to lose your unborn child alone in a hospital bed. To be told there’s no heartbeat but you can hear life as normal continuing outside. She’s singing to her child that will come, the one that keeps her waiting.”
